Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has reaffirmed resolve to the provision of socio-basic amenities to all nooks and crannies of the State.
He gave this assurance during a visit to the Emir of Yauri, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, at his palace in Yauri, Saturday, after attending the wedding of the son of the Secretary to the Government, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, joined together with the daughter of Ibrahim Adamu Ngaski.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu told the Emir that the administration would ensure even spread of developmental projects and equity in appointment into the civil service.
The Governor remarked that he has been doing his utmost best to ensure that the construction of the deplorable Yauri–Koko road was fully completed to minimize the hardship encountered by motorists, adding that members of the national assembly from the State have made input to the completion of the project.
On the issue of new permanent secretaries, he said that Yauri Emirate which falls under Kebbi South, has been adequately represented in the process of governance, citing examples of the Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government and Acting Head of Service from the senatorial district.
He added that more Permanent Secretaries would be appointed from the area.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu announced that ad hoc committees have been appointed at the Emirate level for the staging of Argungu International Fishing Festival and requested the Yauri Emirate to forward the list of members for the next Yauri Riggata festival, which would be arranged according to international standard.
He thanked the Emir of Yauri for his support, loyalty and encouragement towards making Kebbi State peaceful, assuring that suggestions by the Emir would be implemented.
In response, the Emir of Yauri, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, requested the Federal and Kebbi State Governments to hasten the completion of the dilapidated portion of Koko-Yauri road in view of its economic importance to Nigeria and serving as link between north and south of the country.
The Emir commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his active support to the establishment of Dangote Rice Mill of billions of naira and GB Food Tomato factory in Ngaski Local Government of Yauri Emirate and establishment of the Yauri electricity sub-station which provides steady power supply to the area.
He was also happy about the assistance to be provided by the Federal Government to artisan miners exploiting gold resources in the area, as well as his support to Yauri Riggata last year, saying that preparations have been commenced by the local organizing committee for a similar event next year.
