In his speech at one of the stops for the flag off exercise, His Excellency, likewise made it known that his government has opened a channel of discussion on some federal roads.
He specifically said: “We have also begun discussion with the Federal Government for the federal roads including Owerri/ Orlu/ Akokwa Road”.

Same Thursday at Okporo, the Governor also performed the ground breaking ceremony of Government Technical College, Okporo, Orlu; Government Technical College, Owerri, as points of contact for the other two technical colleges at Ahiara Mbaise and Osu in Isiala Mbano.
One of the technical colleges to be built in Owerri, was taken by Zenith Bank PLC, and the Governor, speaking about the good gesture, opined thus:
“Worthy to note is that Zenith Bank Plc is fully sponsoring the cost for the construction of Government Technical College, Owerri, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. We urge other corporate bodies to join forces with us as we #Rebuild our State”.
At the ceremony, His Excellency, reiterated on his administration’s resolve to evenly develop the State, in his exact words as follows:
“Part of our administration’s cardinal agenda is to ensure that the dividends of democracy will be evenly distributed across the 27 Local Government Areas of our dear State. For us all, Imo belongs to Imo people and geographical divisions have nothing to do with our unity as a people”.
Also speaking about the painstaking process leading to the award of the contracts, His Excellency further said:
“The process of getting to this point was transparent and followed due process. We did all these to ensure not just quality assurance, but value for money”.
Finally on the area of quality and durability of the roads, Ndi-Imo should be rest assured that the roads to be built would be of solid standard, judging by the charge His Excellency gave to the contractors handling the various road projects: “I charged the contractors handling the projects to deliver to specifications and guarantee their durability, as our administration is very much committed to providing durable projects that will stand the test of time. By the grace of God, we shall build the Imo our future generations will be proud of”.
